Fd. Ch. J-Bird is a rabbit hunting machine. He has a low body crouch style of running, head down, chop
mouth, brains enough to gear up and down, always in the eye of the storm. Never gets caught in the back,
me-tooing. Taps and fires off of checks like running a painted road line. As one prominent beagler said, "There
is greatness in straightness." This hound is truly straight!
J-Bird's trial record speaks for itself. We all know what Fd. Ch. Buckshot Jones produces. Fd. Ch. Smith's
Hilltop Paty was an excellent trial bitch with national credentials. From Bullocks Creek to Choptalk, Double Ms,
Tiny Bull, Greenwood's Blue Creek Bear, Flat Creek Blake, Line Controller to Piney Creek Bear, all proven
producers in J-Bird's pedigree.
J-Bird's first puppies look outstanding with tremendous hunt. The first comment people make when they
describe their puppies is how hard they hunt -- not just one or two crosses, but off of several different litters
now. Most of the puppies started real easy with the same attributes as their sire; these puppies are full of grit
and desire. One thing that stands out to me about the J-Bird pups I've seen is intelligence. They have enough
nose and brains to adjust to scenting conditions and get the job done.
J-Bird's oldest 2 puppies have compiled a pretty impressive trial record with limited trials. One 13" male, a
2011 Derby, Red Barns Willie Boy has a 1st, 2nd, and three 4ths in five licensed trials. Another, Red Barns
Hard Hittin Lil Buzzard, has a couple of places and a couple other winners packs. Below is a list of numbers
and names of people who have running J-Bird pups. Give these men a call and they will tell you about what
quality pups they have. Some of these guys have bred females and have watched J-Bird or his pups run
recently.
